Welcome back!
Our class has moved on to studying states of matter. Your child has been learning about how matter changes and under what circumstances.
Scholastic has a wonderful website on the states of matter! Here, you can find a cartoon video on the states of matter as well as a song to remember about them. This would be a great tool to help your child remember these!
BBC offers a website to allow students to watch what happens when heat is added to or taken away from different states of matter. Be sure to check it out here. Please note that temperatures are in Celsius.
There are two websites that allow your child to view molecules during different states of matter. This website allows your child to change the state of matter and see what happens. A side picture shows the molecules. The second website shows molecules in their natural setting. Please note that we do not use the book mentioned in the website, but it does offer some great animations.
States of matter are a great topic of discussion at any time of year, but the weather is getting colder and many states of matter can be seen in nature.
Until next time,
Mrs. Greene
